The Band of The Hawk Follow Up With New Project, “KANGOL”

Reminiscent of the prescribed “golden era” of Hip Hop, The Band of the Hawk follows up with their new album, “KANGOL”. Right from the first track you are seemingly taken back to the era of “Liquid Swords” by GZA of Wu Tang Clan. Although Liquid Swords dropped over 20 years ago, the pivotal Hip Hop project bears semblance smack dab on some of The Band of The Hawk’s cover art. The Band of The Hawk, who go by BOHUP for short, have created a fully cohesive project packed with stylistic flows, tight production, and a whole lot vegetarianism. Yes, vegetarianism. In between King’s cool, laidback delivery, Noah ArchAngel’s larger than life track presence, Spear Chuka’s feverous syntax, P.Eye3’s skits, “KANGOL” makes for a dope album to listen to from beginning to end; there isn’t one skippable track.

BOHUP brings the atmosphere on their new album, on each track creating a dank, boom bap atmosphere. I can’t help but feel a “Enter the 36 Chambers” kind of feeling while listening in on the stories, rhymes, and small gems of wisdom from a group of Houston Hip Hop heads whose roots in the culture has been many years in the making. Enjoy “KANGOL” today.
