John Roberson Comes Straight From The Underground With “Black Genius”
Seemingly emerging out of nowhere or somewhere within a hazy, Lo-fi, Boom-bap dungeon, Texas rapper John Roberson releases, “Black Genius”. The 22-year-old artist is the mind behind “Fuck America’s Dream”, which came out over a year ago. Speaking about his latest track, John states, “This song is basically my outlook on how music is today and how my life and perspective is at the current moment moving into adulthood trying to find real purpose.” Interesting distorted sound quality along with John’s contemplative lyrics and brooding deep vocals help create an overall vintage aesthetic, making Black Genius to sound as if it was submitted from a dusty vault of 90’s cassette tapes.
