What more can we say about 2018? The year has filled the void with new music releases from Travis Scott “Astroworld” to Billie Eilish “Come Out and Play”. Just because a new year is approaching doesn’t mean we should stick with the same tunes. Let us get addicted to some new songs with whole new meanings. This list is not for the weary and conformist, these bands all bring something special to the table and there are no duplicates. Here is a list of a few bands that wouldn’t hurt to check out going into 2019.

• Play The Ace: This lady-induced band comes close to home right out of Dallas, Texas. With their youthful perspectives, this band brings a whole new meaning to pop-punk. You can follow them on Twitter @PlayTheAceBand or check out their website playtheaceofficial.

• Blank Faces: Houston natives living up to the motto “Our goal is to do something different in an industry filled with carbon copies.” Catch these cats performing around the city on number occasions in 2019. Be sure to follow them on Twitter @BlxnkFaces.

• Apothica: Nothing speaks metal Houston more than this band right here. Coming up on the rise, Apothica is surely making its name known for crushing vocals from frontwoman Lucy to the powerful seductions of metalcore. You want to know more, follow them @apothicarocks on Twitter.

• An Author, A Poet: Now if you don’t follow any other band from this list, be sure to follow this band. This band has stirred up the noise in Houston since 2017. They’ve performed with some of the rock scene’s biggest performers. Alternative hardcore hasn’t tasted this good. Follow them on Twitter @Anauthorapoet

• Blood Between Us: Need some music to get your blood boiling and start a mosh pit in your living room? Turn this band on full blast. Texas City spits out this hardcore presence to feed the hunger that lingers. Touring the U.S. has never been sweeter. This band deserves the listen above all else.
