New Houston Music Outlet’s Live Music Showcase Ends On A High Note For Houston’s Up & Coming

As the sun began to set around 6pm last Friday, a cadre of performers and people of diverse talents began to converge on the Go-To destination for live music from Houston’s vibrant and growing Hip Hop scene. February 19th marked New Houston Music Outlet’s first and certainly not last music showcase featuring artists from across this great city.

Chris Nero led the troupe as the show’s headliner, performing tracks from new and previously released projects, as well as breaking the ice in our cypher.  Nero succeeded 7 acts, all Houston artists making strides this year: Indigo Crimm, Cypher the Avatar, Apollo, Dallas Clark, Riven, Iguana de Harina, and GLDNi. Radio co-host of Houston’s, “The Groove Show”, DJ Elevated rocked the house on the 1’s and 2’s, spinning a perfect mix of oldies but goodies, new, and eclectic. The Outlet’s Artist of the Year 2015 winner, SVN, hosted the event, even performing tracks from his yet to be released project, ‘Second Sunday’.

The performers put on an electrifying show, each artists bringing their own unique musical approach to the table. For certain, the passion and the energy was alive Friday night. It was not hard to tell that each performer were giving it their all and had an awesome time doing it.

The cypher was a success as the showcase emcees took to the mic, lighting the torch and passing it off to the crowd; that’s when things got even crazier. Artist from around town came through to spit their best lines. The entire show, as well as the cypher, will soon be airing on local TV in Houston. Stay posted for more information on the date and channels.

After promotion through various media and street promotion, we at New Houston Music Outlet are pleased with the turnout, even more so with the dedication of all who participated. The Outlet is planning to bring more Hip Hop shows to the city and show that there are still people who care about maintaining Hip Hop culture.
